Modular OT or Conventional OT – What is the Right Choice?

When it comes to deciding which OT to construct, always list out the pros and cons. Having a calculated decision is far better than a post-construction regret. So here we are with the most concrete points helping you decide which one to choose from modular OT and conventional OT:

1. All by one – Getting a modular OT is like all that is required to be done by one, however with the conventional style is like rushing to different vendors, coordinating with them for bits and pieces. In modular operation theaters, production is standardized and assembly of equipment like lights, operation table, OT scrub station etc. is done by an experienced team.

2. Maintenance – In conventional OT, as different vendors were involved, when it comes to maintenance, no one seems responsible and would throw the ball in each other's court leaving the owner perplexed. This is however the exact opposite of modular where responsibility is of one stag runner. So, the owner comes out as a winner.

3. Design - Modern modular operation theatre is designed using a 3D software environment considering the national and international standards. On the other hand, conventional OT is usually designed in a 2D CAD environment by independent teams, the result is many separate projects and it is often incompatible.

4. Control of temperature and humidity - In case of modular OT, the temperature and humidity are controlled by independent air conditioners. However, in case of conventional OT central air conditioning is used, wherein the individual temperature and humidity requirements are difficult to achieve.

5. Quality – With standardized equipment and customized space utilized, quality control gets easier in modular OT. However, with conventional being constructed at the site, quality control is way more difficult.

6. Cost – For a conventional OT, the cost of the project increases due to a lack of standardization and quality control while the modular OT is quite easy to build in budget.
